Oxford University Publishes “Divine Inspirations: Music and Islam in Indonesia,” Edited by David Harnish

David Harnish, Ph.D., Associate Dean and Professor of Ethnomusicology’s 400-page edited volume, Divine Inspirations: Music and Islam in Indonesia, was published this month by Oxford University Press. The book features eleven case studies by a noted international authorship, along with a comprehensive introduction and an epilogue written by senior scholar, Judith Becker. Harnish wrote one chapter, co-wrote the Introduction, and edited the volume numerous times with second editor, Anne Rasmussen.
