The graphic above represents data of the World’s Most Popular Traveling Destinations from 1995-2018. This chart displays the tourism trends that occurred over the course of years.

First, as we can see France has been the top traveling destination since 1995. Specifically, the most visited places of France include Disneyland Paris, The Eiffel Tower, and the Palace of Versailles. The United States and Spain are also apart of the Top 3 traveling destinations however over the years they have came in 2nd and 3rd place and have switched places consistently.

Hence, all of of the countries listed on the chart are listed due to tourism ventures. These ventures are not only for leisure but are also in compliance to business, health, and or other reasons. It is apparent that both internationally an domestic traveling have became extremely popular globally. Within these years the hotel industry as well as the airline industry have had major growth. According to data presented by Statista the airline industry alone reached “472 billion in U.S dollars in 2021. ” (S. Lock, 2022).

However, it is visible that data comes to end after 2018, and this is due to the impact of Covid-19. Once this hit, the tourism industry as a whole was severely impacted and abolished the idea of travelling. Covid-19 also affected popular travel agencies including Booking Holdings and Expedia causing both companies to have over a 50 percent drop in sales.
