For this assignment I was unsure what display I wanted to make so I decided to just head to some stores and the mall and just take some shots of dispays that I thought looked cool and then work from there. The first display that caught my eye that I saw was a shoe display at some outdoor shoppe.
In the above picture I like how simple and organized the shoes are. I think this display grabs the customers attention without taking too much away from the product they are trying to sell. Especially since this product is targeted towards older people it does not need to be that colorful and extravagant.
I then saw some candy stores and was very interested in their displays and how unique they were and how much fun they were to look at. I think these stores were very successful in what they were trying to acomplish becasuse they had interesting dispalys that attracted the older crowd but the displays were also colorful and fun for the younger kids.
When comparing the shoes and the candy displays I was leaning more towards the candy displays becasue i thought it would more unique and fun to create in google sketch up. Then I did some research and looked up moer dispalys online for candy but struggled to find anything that I felt I could create in sketchup and I struggled to find and candy models in the sketch up search. So I had to go with another direction and I chose to go with a Pepsi display for my project. I felt that I could create something in sketck up that worked very well and I was able to find some pepsi products already made in the sketch up search.
I was able to find some very interesting displays that gave me some ideas to run with for my project. When i finally decided to go with a Pepsi display I went to some local stores and snapped some quick pictures of displays of refreshments. I got some Pepsi displays and a different wine display just so i could get an idea of the direction I wanted to go for this project. The last picture is a picture of a display that I saw online and not in person but it was the coolest display that I came across looking online and in actual stores. It takes a bunch of pepsi cases and makes a race car out of them advertising both Pepsi and Nascar
