The findings of ipc 411 for Bryan

So we are winding down! Our class is coming to an end with only about a week left in the semester. I am excited to move on but at the same time I am sad to see this class end. Throughout my time here at BGSU I think this could be one of the classes in which I have learned the most. I think this class has helped me on an extraordinary level. I think more than teaching me things about secondlife I have been able to learn and work with other avenues of the internet which has benefitted me in the classroom as well as outside of it.  My group over the past couple of class periods have been putting the final touches on our store in its new location. Even though I though our last minute store location change would affect our group negativly, I can say that it has turned out very nice.  There are a few things that we could still sure up but for the most part I am happy with what we did as a group.

Chapter nine is an interesting chapter that explores the ideals and relations between humans and virtual worlds and how quickly they are becoming submerged together. The technology that is colliding these two worlds together is doing it in a very efficient way.  One explanation presented as to why this interaction has grown and continues to is because of the quickness, simplicity, and accessibility of the technology that is used. People are finding that the socialization factor that they experience when they do conventional activities that people participate in are just as readily available online with similar or more exciting experiences. The virtual human is a cultural identity that is fairly new to the world and is continually being explored even now.  The advancement of technology I think is great for human social advancement. With technology providing people more ways, faster ways, and more efficient ways to communicate I think nothing but good can come out of it.

Secondlife has become a place where I go and feel like a worker ant nowadays. It is a weird analogy but is fitting because for the past few class periods I have come to class knowing I was going to spend considerable amounts of time working on manufacturing the clothing I want to put up for sale. One of the more unfortunate things that our group has recently encountered was the loss of our original store location. We used to have a place set in a shopping mall that I felt gave us a great spot to sell our stuff. We have since been moved to a location that feels as if its in a remote location that puts our merchandise in a black enclosed surrounding. I cant say that I like the new location because it is not visually pleasing at all.  This is only a minor problem that im sure we will work through and still get the finished product that we have been hoping for.
