Chapter 4
bryanp | November 3, 2008the author here uses this chapter to talk about secondlife a little more closely. He writes about the pand and space within secondlife and some of the issue that arrise when you are in secondlife. The first pages noted an complaint that he witnessed from a person owing land in a particular place that they felt was special for a relaxed laid back area. They were angry becuase of a fairly newcomer that plotted a store nearby this area. Their issue was that this newcomer had no respect for the area that they had plotted thier establishment as it was very intrusive and took away from the general theme that people there wanted. The author also speaks on the issue of building in secondlife in this chapter. he expalins building as a individual aspect of secondlife but at the same time a very social aspect of the program. I feel he thinks that the building aspect of secondlife provides participants with a commonality that they can preside in. The nature of presenting something that is created from you is something everyone can identify with.
