Bowling Green State University’s Board of Trustees approved a plan to renovate the Falcon’s Nest with a unanimous vote yesterday afternoon during their monthly meeting.
“It’ll transform the first floor and how we deliver food to the rest of the university,” said David Levey, a member of the board.
With options such as Steak Escape, Jamba Juice and BG Sub, the Falcon’s Nest is the primary eatery in the union. Due to this, large amounts of people circulate in and out of the area, making it congested and difficult to maneuver through. Renovations will help to open up this area.
According to an article in The BG News, Wendy’s, also located in the Falcon’s Nest, is set to close after the end of this academic year, leaving space for a new food option.
Renovation of the Falcon’s Nest and introduction of a new restaurant in the place of Wendy’s is set to begin in June.
“…working around planned events in the union for the summer,” Levey said.
Other items discussed at the meeting include the approval of honorary degrees for Maestra Marin Alsop, Dr. Bernice Sandler and Dr. Timothy Fuerst. Also, approval for electrical, fire and Wi-Fi updates to Kreischer Residence Hall.
