FADE IN:
EXT. WIDE SHOT OF AN IMPORTANT LOOKING OFFICE BUILDING – DAY
ZOOM IN SLOWLY TOWARDS BUILDING AND FADE TO BLACK
INT. DIMLY LIT OFFICE WITH NO WINDOWS
BUDDY, a reserved yet determined Farblat, stands before a large desk, listening intently to what his BOSS is telling him. He has a very serious and determined look on his face as his boss tells him how important his job is.
BOSS
Mumble, mumble, mumble, BUTTON, mumble,
mumble, IMPORTANT, mumble, mumble, mumble…
As Buddy’s boss continues his rant, buddy begins to look a little worried, like maybe he isn’t prepared for such a task.
BOSS
NEVER, mumble, PRESS, mumble, mumble,
HORRIBLE, mumble, mumble, TROUBLE, mumble.
Buddy hardens himself and, determined now, salutes his boss and leaves the office.
FADE OUT
DAY 4
FADE IN
INT. DIMLY LIT “BUTTON” ROOM
WIDE SHOT of the Button Room with Buddy hovering, military style, directly next to “THE BUTTON” as he is guarding it. A few video screens and other lighted buttons are flickering dimly in the shadows of the room, but the spotlight, literally, is on Buddy and “THE BUTTON”
ZOOM IN
Closer shot of Buddy with a very determined look in his eyes. He is taking no prisoners where this button is concerned. He is always looking straight ahead and never once glances at the button.
FADE OUT
DAY 17
FADE IN
INT. DIMLY LIT “BUTTON” ROOM
Buddy is still guarding the button and is still hovering in the same spot, but he is definitely looking more tired. Drooping eyelids and a mouth twitch here and there. He has started glancing at the button now and again. By the end of the day he is just staring at the button.
DAY 32
Buddy is now facing the button and staring directly at it. It seems to be taunting him by pulsating with light and he is beginning to sweat and get very angry with it. He turns around in a huff and, crossing his arms in a pout, refuses to look at the button. Unfortunately, he can’t help himself and slowly turns around to stare at it again.
DAY 71
Close up of the button with Buddy slowly rising up behind it, staring even more intently than he was on DAY 32. He has a crazed look in his eyes and his hand slowly creeps in to press the button. At the last second, he slaps his own hand to stop it, but his hand has a mind of it’s own and starts to fight back. A small scuffle ensues and Buddy finally regains control of his rogue hand. He again glances at the button, now with a look of despair in his eyes.
DAY 129
Buddy is now in the same position beside the button as he was on day 4 except now with a glazed look in his eyes, staring directly ahead. CLOSE UP of Buddy’s face as he stares off into space. Suddenly a bug starts flying around Buddy, landing here and there as Buddy begins to swat at it. As Buddy begins to get more annoyed, he start swatting harder and harder. Finally, the bug lands and Buddy, seeing his chance, smashes it! Unfortunately the bug had landed on the button and lights begin to pulsate and sirens begin to wail. Buddy is freaking out! All of a sudden, just when Buddy thinks something awful is about to happen, a lone balloon and a few sad pieces of confetti fall from the ceiling as the lights and sirens start to fade. Buddy faints.
