What drew me to Frank’s work is the unusual curves he puts into everyday objects. Normally you expect a building to have squared off sides and have a rigid frame which defines the shape of if. Frank defies the norm and sculpts buildings that flow. I like the way he makes the chairs legs. He uses one piece to make the whole chair making the base of the chair from folding it over and over.

Herbert Kallem
The work done by Herbert is often intricate combining many pieces to form one sculpture. The Chariot would be just as interesting with the two figures as separate works. By showing the full scene of a rider with some form of animal attached to the front the work is given a bit of life. Its as if the rider is standing ready to take off in a race.

James Leritz
James Sculptures were colorful and have an organic feel to them. Even the cube sculpture has soft bends in the connecting bars. The sculpture of the jellyfish looks like it’s in motion with the tendrils flowing behind it.

Tony Smith
What got my attention with Tony Smith’s work is the size of it. They are larger then a human. Yet they have such simple shapes to them.
The Snake is Out
Wandering Rocks 1967
Shigeo Fukuda
His sculptures dont look like much but they create detailed shadows which are the main draw. the motorcycle is made entirely of forks knives and spoons.
