I think the main problem with my rhetorical analysis was that I wasn’t explaining my main points very well. It was hard to distinguish between my main points, and I feel llike some of them bled together. I also think that if I was given more time or the oppertunity to do it over again, I would include more examples to back up my main points. That way my main points would be supported and would have more credabiliity. With a rhetorical analysis, your credibility is everything, so I wish I would have included more examples.

The thing that I did really well is my introduction and conclusion. I feel like my audience was hooked up right from my first sentence of my introduction. My intro also did a great job of laying out my paper and explaining what exactly I was going to talk about. I also thought my conclusion was very powerful because it ended with a quote, the same quote that ends the PSA.

Revision is a process of tweaking and editing something in order to make it better. In most of my classes, revision is not only allowed but also incouraged. As a future teacher, we are taught that including revision in the classroom can be a very positive thing. Students are more included to better their work and try and get a higher grade. I conduct revision by looking over all comments and suggestions that were made to my paper. I go one by one analyzing and fixing whatever needs to be fixed. I think everyone deserves a shot to revise. I know in high school, I liked how we were allowed to revise and get half credit. This provided alot of students with a chance to get a higher letter grade. I really enjoy revision and think its important to have in every classroom.

Peer Review was very helpful to me because it gave me an in-depth analysis on my paper. I realize what I need to work on and improve on. Although the peer review took a long time, it provided with an abundant amount of comments and suggestions.

1. I need to add more to my conclusion to finish my paper off better.

2. Use more examples to expand my main points

3. Make my introduction more appealing to my audience

Overall, I feel like the process of writing a rhetorical analysis has gone pretty well. I have a rough draft written that I believe to be pretty good. I feel like the question I still have is based around how many examples is good. I’m having a hard time figuring the write amount of examples to use within my PSA. Also, I want to make sure that each of my paragraphs have enough detail. On the assignment sheet it says we should have three pages. My paper right now is at two pages and I feel like if I were to try and stretch it out, I would just be repeating myself.

2. Analysis is well thought out and planned

3. A reader can easily understand your appeal of your PSA

4. The audience can relate to the PSA and your analysis

Rhetorical Analysis PSA

Published by under Uncategorized

I picked this PSA because I think its one of the most entertaining PSA out their on TV today. I think its a unique PSA because all the PSA’s out there are all pretty general such as teen drinking, smoking, and wearing a seat belt. This PSA presents a relatively new concept and I think its interesting and a unique idea.

I thought that the introduction of the “My Culture at the Crossroads” was very informational. The introduction did a very good job of describing the who what where when and why. I was able to read the first line of the introduction and know immediatley what was going to be talked about. I also like how the introduction provided a quote from the author because that added credibility.

I think that the introduction for my rhetorical analysis should include the who what where when and why; very similar to the “My Culture at the Crossroads” article. I also think the introduction should include a phrase or quote that grabs the readers attention and makes them WANT to read the article.

Spring Break was awesome. It was so nice to not only get a break for school and homework but also to be in 80 degree weather in Florida. I traveled to Sarasota Florida and did alot when I was down there. I went on a boat ride and came within inches of touching a dolphin. I went on a jet-ski, attended two reds spring training games, at dinner on the water, and relaxed at the beach and pool. Although they were extremely hot, the Red’s game were awesome. I had never attended a spring training game before so it was a great experience to finally attened one. I also was able to get a couple players autographs and even get a picture with a few of them.

I think spring break is important for every school to have because it gives students a break from all the pressure that school demands. It allows for students to come back and to be motivated to listen and pay attention. If students were not given a break, I would guarantee that grades would suffer.

I haven’t had any experience of portfolios outside of English 111 and English 112. So, even though I am in my junior year, a portfolio is kind of a new experience for me. I like the idea of a portfolio only if your work can get re-evaluated and given a better grade. I think you should get credit for a portfolio because it takes alot of time to organize all of your work. Presenting it nice and having it orgranized should be taken into consideration when re-evaluating the work.
