Hello everyone! I’m Ally Tuttle and I’m a senior at BGSU Firelands in Huron, Ohio! In May I am going to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration along with an Associate of Technical Study Degree. I am originally from Bucyrus, Ohio where I played tennis in high school and was a proud member of DECA, which took me to conferences in Columbus and Orlando! After graduation I began working at Monsoon Lagoon Waterpark as a go-cart girl and then went off to college in Montgomery, Alabama to play tennis. After a year in Alabama I decided to transfer back to Ohio and decided to stay in the Sandusky area to complete my degree at Firelands. Since being back in the area I have been working at Dick’s Sporting Goods as a price and signage coordinator and just recently picked up a second job at Samurai Japanese Steakhouse being a server. I currently live with my boyfriend and we are working on fixing up our first house! We recently got a puppy that is nine months old and is my baby, even though she is not very well behaved!

I have been lucky to have traveled quite a bit through the United States, along with to The Bahamas. I have traveled on vacations to different parts of Florida, Myrtle Beach, San Diego, Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan and Kentucky to just name a few! I would like to explore more of the west coast as I have only traveled to San Diego! Two years ago I went on a cruise to The Bahamas, to Freeport and Nassau, where we learned a lot about their culture and visited some beautiful beaches! I also went on the same trip when I was younger with my parents. Last spring break we took a trip to San Diego where we took tours and saw the beautiful California lands! I was surprised by the beautiful mountains as I did not expect California to be so full of mountains! I did learn that I would never be comfortable driving on their crazy roads though! Also, over Christmas break last year we took a trip to Orlando where we visited SeaWorld, probably my favorite place on the planet, and Disney World, a close second. Most of these trips we take with my boyfriend’s mother and cousin as she is a student at Bowling Green and has the same breaks as I do! I love to travel and see new things and cannot wait for more trips in my future. I would love to see New York City, Chicago, and more of the west coast!

Unfortunately, I have only traveled to The Bahamas twice. I would love to more international travel; however, with work and school it can be difficult to find the time and money to do so right now! However, I did find going to The Bahamas very interesting as we took tours and found out a lot about the local people and how dependent they were on tourists for income. Our first tour guide told us about how expensive it was to purchase a car and how much higher their gas prices are than ours! It was also sad to see how dangerous and poor areas of the country are while the tourist spots are luxurious. Although I have not traveled much, I have been exposed to different cultures by living in Sandusky where many come to work for Cedar Point from many different countries. Also, I began working at Samurai Japanese Steakhouse where my bosses and many coworkers are Chinese. Learning the culture of my coworkers is very interesting and has helped me learn things I never knew about life in China. Also, we were able to clear up some misconceptions that Americans often have about those from other countries. In the future I hope to do much more international travel to Europe and several other countries if I am given the opportunity!
