INITIAL THOUGHTS

I am planning on doing my 2nd project on Vitamin Water.  I chose to this product because I am already creating a website for it in 3660 and the product itself allows the projects to be more fun.

PRODUCT HISTORY

Vitamin Water is a “nutrient enhanced water beverage” that comes in a variety of colors and flavors.  The ‘typical’ Vitamin Water display is creative and fun and usually very different from many other displays.

The first two images are of actual Vitamin Water stores which both obviously play with creative and colorful aspects of the drink to make it more attractive to consumers.  The last two images are of store displays for the drink which both are obviously fun and make it a lot different than the many other displays.  Coca Cola is Vitamin Water’s parent company and they often do creative displays like this during seasonal times as well.

PRODUCT DISPLAY

I haven’t narrowed down my official idea for my display yet but I am thinking of doing something more season related like some of the images I have shown.  Some sort of Winter-oriented display might be fun.

If I do not go with a seasonal display then I will utilize their rainbow of colors in the display and include 3-4 different flavors.  The three flavors I pick will most likely be very different colors so that they will stand out in the three separate but cohesive display stands.

INITIAL THOUGHTS

I have chosen to do my project on Aquafresh toothpaste.  Walking through the store this one caught my attention so I decided to use it.  I have included pictures of both the current display as well as how the rest of the toothpastes are arranged.

Aquafresh definitely stands out from it’s competitors with the way the display is arranged.  I like that they utilize the fact that the toothpaste container is not shaped how most are (sort of flat and laying down) but is a circular container that stands up.

PRODUCT BACKGROUND

On the Aquafresh website (http://www.aquafresh.com) they discuss the product which they call “Aquafresh Iso-Active Whitening” saying it removes 3x more bacteria compared to other toothpastes as it whitens. Iso-Ative is “a revolutionary gel that activates the moment you start brushing, transforming into a micro-fine foam” which penetrates the hard areas to reach in your mouth.  Varieties come in Fresh Impact, Deep Impact, and Lasting Impact.  Uses the fact that it is not a paste but a gel that foams to reach difficult spots.

NEW PRODUCT DISPLAY

Like I mentioned, I like that they use the more 3-D display aspect in their display since their product is essentially more 3D than it’s competitors which are not only in flat tubes, but flat square boxes unlike the Aquafresh bottles. Since, as shown in the pictures, the Aquafresh display is 4 repeated rectangualr type displays with limited amount of bottles on each one then there would be room to create a display which looks like the bottle- standing up with the top cut off and the same amount of tubes as the 4 smaller displays.

If the tall, standing display would not work then I would create a longer rather than tall display like they originally had.  Instead of putting the product on the far right (which kind of runs into the shelf they put it on) I would line the bottles 3/4 the way across the front (perhaps two rows) and make advertisement bottle on the far left completely 3D standing straight up and down.  The background behind each 3D bottle would say the important information that they are advertising.  The background would be completely different shapes and sizes than in the current advertisement.

The Fresh Impact, Deep Impact, and Lasting Impact seem to be the varieties of flavor (spearmint, peppermint, and wintergreen) and coordinates to their typical colors of like blue, teal and green.  The display could be made in these three different colors to promote each individual ‘variety.’

The background information would be behind and above the 3D bottle. Having anything 3D sets this item apart from it’s flat-surfaced competitors.
