What Part of the writing process is easier now than it was in Essays 1, 2, and 3? Why?

I think that the whole writing process has become easier for me throughout the class. I’ve always had problems writing papers because I’ve always felt that gathering the information became confusing throughout my writing. I have learned a better way to word my papers and I have also become a better editor.

Where could your essay use smoother transitions?

My essay needed smoother transitions throughout the paragraphs – but also the beginning of each paragraph. The topic sentences were a little shaky before I went back and edited the information. My biggest problem has been transitions but I went back and fixed them in the beginning of every paragraph in order to make the paper fully understandable.

What is your thesis for Essay 4? (Make sure to include which solution is the BEST one in your thesis).

I believe that in order to decrease the number of students that are getting infected with H1N1 virus, Bowling Green State University should first and foremost require all students to receive the H1N1 vaccine but also have students go to the health center for a mandatory check-up and quarantine those who are infected somewhere other than the dorms.

I think that the support in the essay out of our SMG was awesome. I felt that the writer had all of the aspects in order to address the problem. He had his own ideas, along with those from the positive aspect and the negative aspect which allowed him to fully solve the issue and address his ideas. I thought that there could have been a little more detail – not just with interviews but overall I thought it was a pretty great essay.

If your group’s Zombie Plan from today was presented to the student body, do you think it would have convinced people to follow it? Why or why not?

I don’t think our plan was fully thought out enough – we did not think about difficulties with the plane and the weight of the carry-on items that we would need. And the difficulties of flying with good weather would also wither our plan down.

What instances of Writer Based Prose can  you find in yoru Essay 3 Draft?  How could you make these moments more Reader Based?

I feel that my opinions may come on a little strong in the draft because since I’m a user of Twitter, it may seem like I know everything about it in which I don’t. It still needs a lot of work in which I’m waiting to get back the revised draft.

What are you most proud of with your rough draft? What are you struggling with the most?

I think what I’ve written makes a lot of sense and I thought that the trend is a very large, new site that is going to cause a lot of attention. The only thing I’m worried about is the organization. I think that it may be a little off unfortunately.

Take a moment to reflect. How do you think your academic writing has improved since the beginning of the semester? What positive changes can you see? Where would you like to improve more?

I believe that I have been able to express my thoughts in a more laid out manner and I have had a positive change in being able to work well with organization. I need to improve on transitions still but it is still a work in progress. I think piece by piece things are slowly coming together which is what I’ve needed since college papers are a lot different than easy high school essays.

What is a trend that interests you? What are some possible causes of it? Which of these causes do you believe is the main one?

I think the trend to tan in tanning booths is interesting because it was not like this 10 years ago. I think that the minds of the teenagers today think much differently than previously before which has made them think that they must tan to fit in. I think that society has put such a focus on looks and appearance now that it is causing teens and adults to risk the chance of skin cancer in order to have the appearance that they want.
