About Me

I am a Virginia Beach native. I got my BA in English from Old Dominion University, and an MA in TESOL & Applied Linguistics and an MA Computational Linguistics from Indiana University. I have studied French and Spanish, have taught ESL at the graduate, undergraduate, and K-7 levels, and am currently the Coordinator of the Language Learning Center at BGSU in Bowling Green, OH.

My husband Layne is a born and bred Hoosier.  We met while I was a grad student at IU in Bloomington, IN.  He was wonderful enough to come with me to NW Ohio so that I could pursue a career in Computer Assisted Language Learning.  Layne is a talented musician, the world’s best Special Education teacher, and is currently a full-time father to our children.

Lastly, and certainly most important to me, I am a mother of twin boys.  Sam & Dave are the most wondrous and wonderful creatures I’ve ever known.  When they say “You don’t know how much love you are capable of until you have children” they are right!  It is overwhelming, the insatiable amount of love I have for these two beings.  I feel honored every day for them to call me “ma-ma.”
