This week my client has asked me to create a newsletter, letterhead, envelope, and business card. My main challenge is that she would like most of these things (newsletter, letterhead, and envelope) to be created for use in Microsoft Word. This is something I am unfamiliar with. This week will be mainly researching how to create Word templates and figuring out how to implement design elements in Word.
I’ve had to face this issue before during my co-op where my boss wanted Word templates of things I designed in the case that she was unable to acquire another VCT intern or have the financial budget to get a design company to create and/or update things I designed. The simplest method I’ve found through research (though it will usually require cleaning up the resulting Word file a bit to fully match your original design) is saving whatever you’re doing as a PDF, then using a PDF to Word Converter (such as http://www.pdftoword.com) to have them take your PDF and transform it into a Word document that you can then save as a template through Word.
Youtube is also another great resource. It has every tutorial that is free on there,
Jenna, I am really appreciating the fact that you addressed initially such a request and respectively the received help and info from the people who helped you and me too 🙂 I am also facing some issues with creating similar templates on Word and totally understand your issues. I hope that your project has come along great and wish u good luck in all!
