OhioLINK is currently experiencing a network outage in Columbus that has interrupted service to all OhioLINK resources. Network engineers are working to restore access. This outage affects all OhioLINK databases, the Electronic Journal Center, the Electronic Book Center, the Digital Media Center, the Digital Resource Commons, and the Find It! service. If you are trying to connect to a database or ejournal and are having trouble, please try again later. They hope to restore access later this evening.

CCH Tax Research Network Unvailable

CCH Tax Research Network (Intelliconnect) is currently unavailable due to a technical failure at Wolters Kluwer, the product’s vendor. They are aware of this problem and are working to restore access to all customers. They hope to have access restored by noon today.

OhioLINK Downtime 10/3/09

On Saturday, Oct 3rd, all OhioLINK services will be unavailable from 4 am to 8 pm. This includes the Central Catalog and OhioLINK requesting, the Electronic Journal Center (EJC), the Electronic Book Center, the OhioLINK “Find it” service, and central databases. Many other resources, such as the BGSU local catalog and Ebsco databases including Academic Search Premier, will still be available. The OhioLINK computing facility is fixing major electrical damage it sustained — this is a critical repair. In the event of rain in Columbus, the repair will not take place and all systems will be available.

The outage will begin at 4 am in the morning and continue until at least 8 pm in the evening. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ProQuest Maintenance Window This Weekend

From 10pm Saturday, september 26 to 10am Sunday, September 27, 2009, ProQuest databases will be unavailable due to scheduled vendor maintenance. The following databases are affected:
- American Periodicals Series Online
- Criminal Justice Periodicals Index
- Dissertations & Theses (ProQuest)
- Ethnic NewsWatch
- GenderWatch
- New York Times Historical

ProQuest has also added a subject term browsing feature to the New York Times Historical database.

SBRnet site down on Sunday Sept. 20 until aproximately 4 pm EST.

Ogg Science Library Update

The Ogg Science Library books (over 79,000 titles) have been moved to the William T. Jerome Library. The books have been integrated into shelving on the first or eighth floor and are available for check out now. The journals will remain in the Ogg facility until March 2010. Changes to OhioLINKL Databases

Beginning July 1, several OhioLINK databases will no longer be available.

Consumer Health Complete (EBSCO). Try http://maurice.bgsu.edu/record=e1000051~S0”>Health Source: Consumer Edition(also through EBSCO) instead.

America’s News Magazines (NewsBank). Search for magazines in http://maurice.bgsu.edu/record=e1000055~S0, which contains popular magazines, instead.

America’s Newspapers (NewsBank). Despite the loss of most of this database’s content, the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) will still be funding access to five major statewide newspapers:

The Columbus Dispatch (1985-present)
The Cleveland Plain Dealer (1991-present)
The Toledo Blade (1996-present)
The Dayton Daily News (1990-present)
archives of the Cincinnati Post (1990-2007)
