Campus Trials: ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus

October 21, 2009 · No Comments

For many years, all OhioLINK institutions have had access to the ISI Web of Science (Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index) for interdisciplinary and citation searching.

OhioLINK has seen a 13% budget cut this year. In an effort to save money and use resources effectively, OhioLINK recently issued an Intent to Negotiate (ITN) for a multidisciplinary index, abstract, and reference citation database for OhioLINK institutions. Thomson Reuters responded with a suite of databases including the Web of Science. Elsevier responded with their Scopus database. By December, librarians at OhioLINK libraries will evaluate both databases and the two ITN responses and will select one as the best value for OhioLINK libraries.

The entire BGSU community has an opportunity to access both databases through statewide trials, available now through November 18, view demonstrations and provide feedback.

The Libraries invite you to:

Try both products, on or off campus.

View live demonstrations in webinars sponsored by both publishers.
