He is known as an eyeborg. Even though he does not really “see” the images because they are outputted onto a video recorder, his eyeborg tracks, blinks, etc.  just like a human eye.  This tool allows him (the him being Rob Spence) to conduct undercover journalism and documentary film making.  This is such an interesting idea and one that speaks to the possibilites of where technology can take us…

So the special effects he can “see” happens after the fact (so he doesn’t really have Terminator vision and so he must experience this on a screen (just like the rest of us non eyeborgs)…
