More sports, a special goodbye, and an interesting video

St. Tom’s intramural soccer team steps up to 3-1 with a big 7-1 win yesterday. We’ve got three different players this (short) season who have registered hat tricks.  The origin of the term is disputed, but here‘s what Wikipedia has to offer on the hat matter.

After getting some celebratory ice cream, I went over to the Ice Arena to do some homework at my desk.  However, I ended up playing a little hockey (for almost 2 hours).  I was exhausted after all that … sports.  But what a great night.  I stuck around to help close up, and I realized it was the last ice cut ever for Sheldon, one of the student employees.  A minute before he started, I asked him if he had any special song in mind for his last ice cut. Then I ran to the office and played Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Closing Time as he made his last cut.  It was a special moment.
