I think the blogs were a good idea and a nice thing to do each class to reflect and to let you know how we feel about certain things. I think it was nice to see what others had to say about certain assignments as well when we saw them when we commented on their blogs. They were kind of annoying to keep up with but I think it was an useful requirement for the class because it was each of our responsibilities to keep up with them and if we did them or not our grades would show it. I would not like to use them in other classes in the future, i think doing them as an experience in this class was good and was a good idea to have for an english course. It helped me because if I reflected on a topic and I was way off about it, Brittany let me know right away if I had the right idea or not just simply but reading my reflection.

In fulfilling this assignment, I see this being very valuable because when demonstrating a particular literacy, you can learn a lot from it and see any mistakes you have made. You can view literacy from many different points of view. Therefore, if you put something in a different perspective on your own, you have a better understanding of that particular literacy. You can simply take something in your life and compare it to a specific subject of literacy and reflect on it. You then are talking about your feelings and kind of look at it as a “bigger picture” The value of representing your own resume, will help you elaborate more on a particular focus that you want a company to know that you are applying for. You yourself sees your own strengths and weaknesses as a whole and what to focus more on when apply for a job for your future. When I am re-seeing my resume, I am doing it in a way to represent myself and how I work to prove to a company how I would work for them and the type of person I am when I am talking about my company and giving my own presentation.

Yes I will be using the resume I used for this assignment for this class. I will be picking something from my resume and making it into a presentation. I will be doing a power point presentation. I chose this because I will be focusing on my recent job at the Toledo Zoo. Since I “applied” for a pharmaceutical sales specialist position, I figure that making a presentation about the Toledo Zoo will show my way of how I will take part in this position I applied for. I am doing this presentation to kind of “sell” to people the idea of that coming to the Toledo Zoo will be a fun and successful visit. I will provide information about what to do there, how much it costs and things like that. In doing this presentation I will be showing my skills that I put about me on my resume. It will also be about a company I work for now and care about so that the company that I “applied” for will see how I represent the Toledo Zoo and hope that they will want me for the position. It will show in a different way how I represent myself and my special skills and talents that i try to express in my resume and cover letter.

I feel this semester we have talked about literacy a lot. There is so much to know about it. Generally I thought it was just a concept used in english that just generally meant reading and writing. I now have learned that literacy means much more than that. It is more of reading and writing in more detail. It has meaning to every piece of writing someone writes. When you write a piece of literacy, you write a piece about yourself and relate it to the significance of everything around you and everything you have learned. I have realized that there are so many different pieces of literacy we can relate to.

In the introduction of my portfolio I will include a brief one page typed out reflection to tell what my blog page is about. I will state all the information that is being presented in my portfolio. I want my pages to say the assignments each by each therefore when the reader looks at my page the first thing they will see is my introduction page telling about what is in my portfolio. Then included on my page will be tabs addressing each assignment. “PSA Rhetorical analysis Literacy Narrative Resume” with titles such as these. To introduce my portfolio I will just be writing a traditional paper telling all about this. I find this to be traditional and just for something for readers to briefly read about so they can continue to look at my page. I may think about doing a powerpoint because i think that would be kind of interesting and entertaining to do as well. When I put more thought into it and get everything sorted out together, I will decide if I want to do a powerpoint or the traditional paper.

When reading through some of the resumes and cover letters I have learned to really consider my word choices I use when describing why I want to apply for this job and what experience I have had to help support this. I will probably have multiple people look over my resume and cover letter because I feel having as many people as you can to read over my information to help me apply for this job would be very helpful because each person could probably find more and more mistakes within my work rather than just looking and reading it myself or just having one or two people doing it. I will consider using stronger words in my cover letter.

With working a lot on my resume and cover letter this past weekend and in previous classes, I feel I have a pretty good idea with how to do my resume and cover letter. i think that it is difficult to get the right words you want to use for your cover letter but I just write one roughly and then later go over it and add it more details and better use of words to it to make it sounds better. i feel this is a good way to sit and think about what your trying to say and the words i want to use to say it. I have roughly everything i need done for this assignment, I just need to organize it more and touch up some spots and hopefully I will get it all done and correctly put together.

Everything is important in the job ad. The number of years of experience is important, the job description is important, these things are important because you need to see if you are even qualified to suit these requirements before you apply for the position. I will show as much detail as I can on my resume to show that I fit these requirements for the job.

The company is a major international healthcare business engaged in the research, development, manufacture and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and the supply of healthcare services. The desire qualifications and skills for this position is to have a degree in marketing complete training requirements, achieve sales goals, to have experience, valid drivers licence and safe driving record, and things like that.

The company seems to value the importance of leadership and responsiblities within their company. Different cultures and for employess to express diverse perspectives. Key words are responsibilities, education, learning, energized, honor, reward, creativity.

My understanding of what a resume is an overall description of past jobs experiences and work capabilities to show your own effort and standards for this job in which you are applying for. When applying for a certain job, you fill out a resume accordingly to that specific job. You show all of your past experiences, work ethnics, awards and input of how you can do this job your applying for well. I have done this before for one of my past IPC classes. Practicing with resumes will help us for when we apply for our future career. Resumes goals are to show the employer what kind of job experienced you have had and what kind of work you will do for this particular company.
