Sorority All-Sports Championship

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by cmarcum on 13-01-2009

This All-Sports Championship Series is for all sororities on-campus that participate in intramural sports. Each sorority will be awarded a specific amount of points for their involvement and success in a number of fall and spring intramural sports. At the end of the academic year, the sorority with the most points will be awarded the All-Sports Championship Trophy. Three fall sports: flag football, dodgeball, and 3-player basketball will be counted in the standings, as well as a half dozen spring sports. We wish the best of luck to all competing sororities.

Point System

  • 5 points – Awarded for each intramural sport a sorority has participated in. No additional points will be awarded for having multiple teams.
  • 1 point – Awarded for each individual win in each individual sport.
  • 2 points – Awarded for making it to the playoffs in a sport when applicable.
  • 3 points – Awarded for finishing as the runner-up in an intramural sport.
  • 5 points – Awarded for winning an individual intramural sport.
  • 2 points – Will be deducted if a sorority has a player ejected from an intramural sporting event.
  • 5 points – Will be deducted if a sorority has multiple players ejected from an intramural sporting event.

Tiebreaker

In the event of a tie:

  1. If the two sororities faced each other in the championship game of any intramural sport(s), the sorority who has the better head-to-head championship game record will be declared the All-Sports Champion.
  2. The sorority of the tied sororities who won the most championships will be declared the All-Sports Champion.
  3. The number of times each of the tied sororities finished as a runner-up will decide the All-Sports Champion.
  4. Of the tied sororities, the one with the least number of ejections will be declared the All-Sports Champion.
  5. Of the tied sororities, the one that participated in the most intramural sports will be declared the All-Sports Champion.
  6. The winner of the All-Sports Championship will be decided by coin flip with the sorority with the higher house G.P.A calling heads or tails.
