Is anyone else shocked how quickly this semester seems to be going? I know this is cliche, but in some ways it seems like yesterday was the first day of the spring semester.

However, the reality is that we’re 8 weeks into this semester, well on our way to another Commencement and summer session at BGSU.

Make the most of the next 8 weeks, and finish strong!

Big Playground is Friday, Feb. 26, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Student Recreation Center.

Come try out the inflatable obstacle course, giant slide and jousting match. Enjoy free food and great prizes and a live DJ and have a caricature drawn of you and your friends. Grab some friends and show off your skills at the 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The first 100 students in line get a free Big Playground T-shirt, so come early!

A scholarship is available to a Bowling Green State University off-campus or commuting under-graduate student for use during the coming academic year. This scholarship is awarded in memory of Hazel H. Smith, a former BGSU student who was instrumental in the evolution of an area that would be known as the Off-Campus Student Center.  Mrs. Smith, a pioneer in the field of commuter centers became the first full-time administrator of the program in 1967 and served in this capacity until shortly before her death in 1986.

Off Campus Student Services will be hosting the third Commuter D.I.P. (Drop In Program) Social for commuter students Friday, Feb. 19, in the Commuter Lounge of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The event will take place from 11 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and we will be providing food, drinks, and games. Drop in to meet some new people and enjoy the spread of food! We hope to see you there!

The Undergraduate Student Government and Graduate Student Senate, hoping to consolidate the many efforts around campus for Haiti relief, will be collecting items to transport to areas of need in Haiti.

Items ranging from canned goods to toiletries will all be accepted. All groups that may already be gathering goods, if they wish, can drop them off in the USG/GSS office (404 Union) and items will be transported for you. This will be an ongoing project throughout the semester.
