50 Words for Snow

If you’re like us, you’re probably not feeling super excited about the onslaught of winter weather.  But fear not:  Kate Bush has come forth to take the edge off the descent into cold with her new album, 50 Words for Snow.  She explores the cold, winter in general, and the myth that Eskimos have 50 words for snow (with a little help from Stephen Fry).  You can hear the whole album on Grooveshark.  It might not make you warmer, but maybe it’ll help you mind the cold less.

Hours: Week of Thanksgiving

During the week and weekend of the Thanksgiving holiday (November 21-27), the Music Library and Sound Recordings Archives will be open at the following times:

Monday, 8am-10pm

Tuesday, 8am-5pm

Wednesday, 8am-5pm

Thursday, Friday & Saturday: Closed

Sunday: 6pm-10pm

The Many Ways to Renew CDs and DVDs

Everyone knows you can come to the Music Library and renew CDs and DVDs  in person.  And many library users probably know they renew their materials online (provided they’re not overdue yet).  But did you know that you can also renew media materials over the phone?  Even when they’re overdue?  Well, you can- and it’s pretty easy to do.  Just call the Music Library during open hours, tell us your ID number and what you want to renew, and we’ll do the rest!

Save yourself some time, effort and money in overdue fines.  Program this number into your phone: 419/372-2307.
