Day Ten

19 05 2009

First Day

First Day

On the steps of St. Paul's

Inside The Building Center

May 18

Today was my first day of my work experience at Linedota. Christopher
Hill runs the company with his wife Feona. Stan was there helping me
learn Rhino, the CAD program that Chris uses. I was working on a
project in Uganda. The building Chris is designing will be used for
either school class rooms and/or clinics. The buildings materials
being used are things that can be found locally and can be reused.
Stan and I got a lot accomplished today for me being new to the
program. Another mice thing is a get to use my laptop so I have all my
setting set and etc.

I am on the tube now typing this up on my iPod and will be posting it
when I get on the Internet. Living in London is very different. It’s a
35-45 minutes commute to the firm from our hotel. I don’t mind, gives
me time to type this, read the paper and listen to my music.

Later on tonight we will be working on out video projects and
hopefully get some posted on facebook. We can’t figure out how to post
pictures and videos on the blog. Here’s the link to our facebook page.

Day Six

15 05 2009

Sorry for the lack of new posts. Getting on the internet is very different over here. Places that say they have wi-fi don’t tell you that it’s slow. I’m at a interent cafe down the street from the hotel and it’s a decent connection. The trip has been going great. I’m loving London. The only downsides is the exchange rates. We been eating at little mam and pap shops in whatever area we are in and try to keep it under 5 pounds. Food is great!

Places that we have gone to so far…

-One Poultry

Day One

10 05 2009

It’s 8:45 London time. I’m at a London internet cafe paying 50p per half hour. The cheapest we have found near us. The flight wasn’t bad at all. Slept most of the time. Took about an hour to get thou customs. First purchase were our Oyster Cards for the tube. The hotel we are staying at is not bad at all. Rooms are smaller than BG’s dorms but don’t plan on doing anything but sleeping in them.  We mostly walked around London getting a sneak peek of everything we will be seeing in the next couple weeks. Food here is good. Lunch and dinner spilt some sort of sampler. Weather here is great. Nice day to arrive on. A little windy but it’s got nothing compared to BG’s winds.
