considering a three column layout, much like a newspaper. This allows a lot of room for content to cascade. The layout will consist of a title, a headline, an important article and less important articles.

mt code

movable type has it’s own code for loading content from a multitude of blogs onto a main page. I’m fimiliarizing myself with this code. The BGViews site is my best bet. They have a pretty good and open set up Hopefully things go well with Ken.

BGViews

BGviews is built on the movable type platform. It’s the bg news’s online alias, and more. Any student can set up a personal blogg on BGViews. Knowing this, I set up a meeting with BGViews Webmaster Ken Edwards to see if maybe I can piggy back Christoff’s two sites onto BGViews.

bgviews also has handheld capabilities. maybe remote postings onto the writing journals could be a neat feature.IMG_0027[1]

Wordpress

wordpress is huge. You have a ton of options for hosts, plugins, accounts etc. wordpress is the most widely used platform. Some beautifull sites are built with wordpress.wordpress_org[1]

Movable Type, Blogg platform

I might go with mt as a blogging platform. The allow the designer alot of freedom. They offer logins with they’re free membership that is limited but enough. movable-type-design-assistant[1]

The Sentimental Trombone & The Society of the Wood Racket

The Sentimental Trombone & The Society of the Wood Racket are going well. The first stage besides initial meetings with the customer, Christof Shceele, are researching blogging platforms that allow lots of design freedom. Another step that I’ve started on is researching online writing journals. Mcsweeney’s is one of the more popular ones. it’s super-super minimal. Intentionally. But eligant and generates tons and tons of respectable content.
