Food writing awards

Greetings from the Association of Food Journalists. We are pleased to announce that AFJ’s 2018 Awards Competition is now accepting entries. The deadline is Thursday, March 1. Attached, please find the categories and rules for 2018. They also can be found at AFJ’s website.

AFJ encourages students at the undergraduate and graduate level to submit entries. There is no fee for qualified individuals to enter the student writing category. The first-place winner will receive $300. Finalists will be notified in May, with winners announced at an awards reception Sept. 27 at AFJ’s annual conference, Sept. 26-28 in Phoenix. You’ll find links to last year’s student winners here.

The contest is open to students as well as AFJ members and to food writers and editors who are not members of the association. If a student is not a member of AFJ, ask them to please consider joining.
