Student writer needed

BGSU Marketing & Communications is seeking a student writer to work with the communications manager assigned to Athletics as well as various academic units. The successful candidate will be able to assist with writing, proofreading, quality control and detail-oriented project management.

A. Main purpose of the job
 Assist Communications Manager

B. Primary responsibilities or key duties
 Assist with writing, proofreading and quality control.
 Input and help track jobs through completion via project management software (Wrike).
 Assist with publications, marketing collateral, videos, events, web and new media for key University clients such as Intercollegiate Athletics, Graduate College and the Career Center.

C. Additional duties
 Assist with other Marketing & Communications needs, including pick-up and delivery of materials across campus.
 Assist administrative staff in covering front desk duties, including answering phones and routing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.

D. Basic qualifications:
 Proficient writer with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
 Able to shift from a more creative style for feature magazine articles to the highly organized presentation of information.
 Strong detail orientation for proofreading and comprehensive quality control.
 Project management skills: able to help set up and track active jobs through completion.
 Ability to communicate professionally with various constituencies across campus.
 Familiarity with AP Stylebook is beneficial but not necessary.
