Public Relations Internship – Washington Wild Things and PA Rebellion (Washington, PA)

Interns in the Public Relations and Marketing Department will receive a well-rounded experience. You will gain valuable knowledge in the media relations department of two professional sports teams and be required to perform all aspects of the job including but not limited to game notes, press releases, media guides and game-day preparation. This internship requires strong communication skills along with attention to detail are essential. All interns assist full-time staff members in a large number of tasks and help the department work as a team to reach organizational goals.

Responsibilities of the Public Relations and Marketing intern include, but are not limited to:

  • Write game recaps and upload them to both websites for home and away games.
  • Gather game statistics, compiling stat packs, gathering lineups and distributing game-day information to media members in the press box.
  • Assist in writing daily game notes and collect information for club publications, including media guide and program.
  • Work with Public Relations and Social Media manager to help design the media guide and all other publications, including newsletters and social media graphics.
  • Write feature stories for publications and provide creative ideas and vision for editorial concepts.
  • Pull newspaper clips each day and deliver to Public Relations and Social Media Manager.
  • Work with Social Media manager to update all aspects of teams’ social media accounts in compliance with the 2015 social media campaign.
  • Help generate revenue for the ball club through group sales and individual ticket orders
  • Other duties as assigned
