Reporter wanted in Indiana

The Commercial Review, which took first place for general excellence in the 2014 Hoosier State Press Association Better Newspaper Contest, is seeking its next reporter.

The reporter we hire will be assigned to either the city or county government beat while sharing police/courts with another reporter. The job also includes photography, layout/design, column writing, proofreading and feature writing.

We are looking for someone who has shown a commitment to journalism, whether it be professionally or through work at collegiate newspapers and internships. Students who will be graduating in May are encouraged to apply.

The Commercial Review has finished in the top three for general excellence in the HSPA contest in each of the last four years. The win for general excellence was one of our 20 awards in 2014.

Our publication is a great place to learn and grow, whether a journalist seeks to stay in a small community or move on to bigger opportunities. We have a close-knit staff that works together to make our product the best it can be.

Send resume and three examples of your work to editor Ray Cooney at r.cooney@thecr.com.
