Speech #1

February 3rd, 2009 by

Hmmmmmm…How do I feel post Speech #1? …Well, to be honest I felt a little nervous prior to and during giving my speech. I’m sure most of you all felt the same. I guess I can only speak for myself when I say, I felt so much weight lifted off my shoulders once I was done. Also, a sense of relief. Even though I was nervous and anxious to be done with the first speech I truly had no clue that I had went over my time! Although I was nervous about the idea of giving the first speech, I think this definitely broke a little ice for me in terms of how I may feel about upcoming speeches.

Last Class Session (Wed. Jan. 21, 2009)

January 26th, 2009 by

During the last class meeting, I found that a good ethic to keep in mind during speech presentations is to “Act like you are interested, even if you are not.” I thought this was good for two reasons, 1- I came up with this idea 🙂 and 2- It is respectful to the speaker because distractions from the audience are noticeable as well as distracting!!

Biography

January 20th, 2009 by

Hello classmates and friends! My name is Blayre Brown. I am 21 and a native of Dayton, OH. As mentioned in class I am the oldest of six children. Obviously I am a current student here at BGSU, however, I would like to share with you that I am a Sport Management Major with a minor focus in Entrepreneurship. I have a serious passion for sports, hence, this is why I chose to focus on Sport Management. Future goals of mine are to coach basketball, possibly obtain a h.s athletic director position and eventually create/develop my own community center for the youth. Furthermore, I also intend to develop a sports league of all sorts. This league will offer youth the opportunity to play in a sports league of their choice as well as the opportunity for me to continue coaching basketball.
