Main Setlist

  • The Day“- Porno Graffiti [My Hero Academia]

With the new season of My Hero Academia out, one cant help but think about where the series all started. This first opening of the series sets up the tone of the show, and highlights the beginning of Deku’s hero journey. Here is The Day by Porno Graffiti.

  • Hopes and Dreams“- Toby Fox [Undertale]

In 2015, a game based on moral paths took the world by storm. A lot of people have strong opinions about Undertale, but everyone can agree that the music is catchy and memorable. Here is Hopes and Dreams from undertale.

  • Gusty Garden Galaxy“- Koji Kondo [Super Mario Galaxy]

Mario is a name synonymous with the gaming industry. He’s had lots of crazy adventures, but I’m Super Mario Galaxy, he goes to space. He traverses literal planets to save the princess, and if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is. Here is Gusty Garden Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy.

  • Spiky Seeds“- The Pillows [FLCL Progressive]

After a long 15 year hiatus FLCL has returned with not one, but two seasons. If FLCL comes back, The Pillows do as well, and this ending track really shows their style. Here is Spiky Seeds from FLCL Progressive.

  • Sugar Song and Bitter Step“- Unison Square Garden [Kekkai Sensen]

In a world where the extraordinary is ordinary, people go about their lives in a different way. Kekkai Sensen follows a group trying to keep order in this twisted city. Like the challenges this group faces, this song by Unison Square Garden is is one of our most technically challenging songs. Here is Sugar Song and Bitter Step from Kekkai Sensen.

  • Orchestra Piece #1“- Koji Kondo [The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess]

The Legend of Zelda series is very consistent in its musical quality. Almost every song in it is memorable and fits the character or space it represents really well. Although this piece has a generic title, it will keep you interested from beginning to end. Here is Orchestra Piece 1 from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

  • Kanashii Ureshii“- frederic [Koi to Uso]

This show follows a world in which couples are assigned by the government. When a boy discovers that his assigned partner is his high school crush, he is ecstatic, but then he receives another message that his assignment is supposed to be someone else. While the song sounds peppy, the title, roughly translating to “Sad Happy” seems to fit the show pretty well. Here is Kanashii Ureshii from Koi to Uso.

  • Lifelight“- Hideki Sakamoto [Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]

With the theme of “Everyone is Here,” Super Smash Bros. Ultimate really needed a grand opening title to start the adventure, and it is accomplished very well and sets the tone for the whole game. Here is Lifelight from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
