As you compose/revise your RE, I hope you’ll keep the following in mind.

The best RE’s will:
–have an attention-getting intro; avoid broad platitudes
–utilize research AND synthesis in the intro
–include a clear, focused thesis that mentions a clear stance, reasons and CA’s
–keep readers on track vis a vis your argument at the beginning and end of every paragraph
–include 10+ sources
–incorporate quotes smoothly and seamlessly
–use meaningful, synthesis-laden verbs of attribution to introduce second quotes
–refer to sources by name at the end of each paragraph, connecting their interactions to your argument
–synthesize three sources per body paragraph/CA
–use text-wrapped visual images whenever appropriate
–be written in an active voice; gerunds are the devil!
–full of vivid descriptions and TONS of specifics
–strive for well developed, focused, balanced paragraphs
–conclude meaningfully, powerfully, urgently
–be MLA perfect
–be typo-free
–have a snazzy title
–be awesome!

As always, email me any and all questions!
