Pearl Harbor Day

December 7 is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, a day to honor all the people who died in the attack on Sunday, December 7, 1941. The Empire of Japan attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, killing more than 2400 Americans and wounding more than 1100. In addition, eight battleships, three cruisers, three destroyers, and a minelayer were sunk or damaged, as were 188 aircraft. The CRC has books to help kids learn about this historic event.
Information Literacy Awareness
October is National Information Literacy Awareness month. What is information literacy? It is the ability to find, retrieve, evaluate and use information in many different forms. President Obama issued the first proclamation about information literacy in 2009. He wanted to emphasize how important these skills are for citizens today. Come to the library or visit us virtually to practice your information literacy skills.
