Banned Books Week

 The American Library Association (ALA) and many other Americans celebrate the freedom to read during Banned Books Week. In 2012, Banned Books Week runs from September 30-October 6.

The ALA tracks how many times books are challenged each year. Classics, children’s, and young adult books are frequently questioned. Among the top ten most frequently challenged books for 2011 are The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and the classic Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
