School Library Month
School libraries have celebrated School Library Month since 1985, when the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) organized the first celebration. The theme that year was “Where Learning Never Ends: The School Library Media Center.” Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan delivered the keynote address on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on April 1, 1985.
School libraries create special activities in April to help their schools and local communities celebrate strong school library programs. How will the school library you remember celebrate this month?
