Black History Month

Black History Month, also called African-American History Month, has been observed during February in the United States since 1976. Canada shares the February observation, but the United Kingdom recognizes October as Black History Month. Black History Month grew out of Negro History Week, which was organized by historian Carter G. Woodson in 1926. Of course, the CRC has books and other materials to help you learn or teach more about Black History Month. Stop in and see us.
