Think spring break! What will you be reading for fun? Visit the CRC for good reads. Some favorites are featured in the special display near the copier, but many more available–just ask for your favorites.

  Both Skipping Stones and Cricket are imaginative, multicultural children’s magazines that we offer here at the CRC for checkout.   Skipping Stones features articles and art by children and young people from around the world and Cricket is full of article and stories by children’s authors.

We have a nice collection of quality children’s magazines available for checkout. For history and culture use Calliope for world history, Cobblestone  for  U.S. history, and Faces  for world culture.  All of these magazines have magnificent photographs, well researched articles, and hands on activities appropriate for ages 9 and up.  Think beyond the textbook for nonfiction. 

What do you call George Washington’s false teeth?  Presidentures!  Classrooms across the country will take time on February 21 to honor the office of the POTUS and we’ve got resources!   For activity ideas check out the President’s Day ideas from Education World, Thinkfinity, and   Apples4the teacher .
