On October 25, 1881 Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain.  Even the youngest artists can enjoy Picasso’s work with a copy of the new book Oooh! Picasso by Mil Niepold & Jeanyves Verdu.  Read it together and wish Pablo a Happy Birthday!

A new YA novel getting a lot of buzz is Thalia Chaltas’ Because I Am Furniture. This is a verse novel that is intense with emotion and sure to appeal to the many YA readers at BGSU. You can check it out for three weeks from the CRC at JUV C441b. 

Teaching kids about caring for the environment is easier with the new series Voices for Green Choices.  For grades 5 and up, this series features John Muir, Victor Wouk, Al Gore, Rachel Carson, Ed Begley, Jr and David Suzuki.

New to the CRC:  books for dog, cat and even bear lovers.  For the youngest kiddos are two books by Mark Newgarden and Megan Montague Cash:  Bow-Wow 12 Months Running (JUV N5478bt) and Bow-Wow’s Colorful Life (JUV N5478bc).  For early readers Dog and Bear Three to Get Ready (JUV S4522dt) is the new sequel to the highly reviewed Dog and Bear by Laura Vaccaro Seeger.
