The OLO: Dock the iPhone into a Laptop!

The OLO: Dock the iPhone into a Laptop!: Not sure I understand the point. If you doc your iPhone to a laptop to have better functionality, do you really need to be using the iPhone? Why not just use the laptop? Unless the purpose is to utilize the iPhone’s WiFi/3G connection and the netbook has a fully functioning OS.
