Saisha Gailliard

Hey there!  My name is Saisha Gailliard.  I’m currently a junior at Bowling Green State University studying broadcast journalism.  As my college experience is going so fast, I must say I have enjoyed just about every moment!  During my time in college I have continued to learn a significant amount of material, including environmental studies.

After taking an environmental studies class my sophomore year, I became even more intrigued with environmental issues.  I am excited to know that this blog will bring a further fulfillment to such interest with the environment.  Lets face, its a very important matter…we have to take care of our environment so that it will take care of us! 😉

Jason Henry

Me and my pal, Academy Award winner Adrien Brody.

Hello, I’m Jason Henry, a senior print journalism major with a minor in film at Bowling Green State University in Northwest Ohio. Beyond classes, I work as the City Editor for the BG News as well as a variety of production-based jobs at the local PBS station, WBGU-PBS. Additionally, I interned at the Findlay Courier during the summer of 2010.

I hail originally from a small town called Crestline, southeast of Bowling Green where our graduation class was less than 50 people. In my spare time, I watch many, many movies and consider myself a film buff. Beyond that, I enjoy kayaking and camping.

Following graduation, I plan to move anywhere there is an interesting job.

Hannah Mingus

Hannah Mingus

Hi, I’m Hannah Mingus, and I’m a junior at Bowling Green State University majoring in Print Journalism, with a minor in Popular Culture.

Growing up I dreamed of following in my mother’s footsteps and becoming a teacher, but after spending two years on my high school’s yearbook staff, I decided that writing was what I was truly passionate about.

I recently began writing for the Key Magazine, and would like to become more involved in the BG News as

well.  I am the secretary for my sorority, Delta Xi Phi, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma and CSL.

Environmental Journalism is a new topic to me, but I am very excited to learn more about it!

Nikia Washington

My name Nikia Washington, commonly known  by Kia. I am a print journalism student, with a passion for writing, which essentially lead me to this field of study. On Bowling Green’s campus, I participate as a steering member of Dance Marathon and a videographer for the BG Football team. I am also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where I serve as the philanthropy chair.

I am originally from Cleveland, OH, but have lived in Farmington Hills, MI for the past 12 years. As the oldest of three children, I am the first of my parents children to be shipped off to college.

In my experience as an aspiring journalist I have worked with BG-24, BG on TV and the Key and Obsidian magazines. I also work briefly for the start up of a magazine in the Washington, D.C. area. Lately, I have been exploring writing fiction, which is quickly becoming a new hobby of mine. My ideal job is to work my way up through a magazine production company and to eventually, establish my own.
