“Our Reflections have lives, too.”
A man wakes up and drags himself out of bed. He realizes he is running late, and hastens through his morning routine, which includes pulling an overcoat over his pyjamas. He runs into obstacles as he rushes to a destination (traffic, slow elevator, etc…optional). He arrives at a large, busy complex and rushes inside, clocking in as he goes (there is a # combo on the card). He hurries through a hallway filled with doors, and as he starts to enter one (same # combo), the camera goes inside the room –a bedroom– zooms through a standing mirror, and suddenly all is reversed. Also revealed is an identical 2nd man just yawning and sitting up in bed. As he gets up, the 1st man is seen through the mirror on the other side of the room, frantically getting into the same position as the 2nd man, tripping and stumbling and throwing his overcoat on the floor. He isn’t quite in the right position when the 2nd man looks sleepily in the mirror, but the 2nd man is apparently too tired to notice. When 2nd man turns away, 1st sags in obvious relief, until jumping into place when 2nd man glances doubtfully over shoulder back into the mirror. They both shake their heads, and shuffle out of the room. There’s a beat, and then the door in the mirror opens, 1st grabs his discarded overcoat, and ducks back out.
