“The Healing Of Time”
Story by Brandon Moore
VAST WHITE EMPTINESS
A picture frame is the only noticeable object in the barren empty space. The camera zooms in to see the contents of the picture.
The picture frames shows Chronus and his twin brother. The picture fades out and is replaced by a new one, showing the two brothers arm wrestling. It then fades to them laughing together. Next they are chasing each other. The clocks on their chest are rotating as these pictures are shown. Then it shows them standing next to each other and one of the brothers fades away. The clock of Chronus stops and the camera zooms in on his face.
The camera zooms out of Chronus but he is no longer in the picture. The picture frames sits far behind him on the horizon of the vast emptiness.
Chronus looks down at the clock on his chest. He presses his hand against it.
The camera cuts to the frame. It suddenly glows as the image of Chronus’ twin fades in and out.
The camera cuts back to Chronus as he notices the glow and turns around. He steps forward as to approach the frame but decides not to and turns back around. He sighs and looks down ashamed. He looks at the clock then looks up in determination.
Chronus turns around and begins to approach the picture frame.
The picture frames release a spirit that heads toward Chronus.
Camera cuts to Chronus turning around and falling down face forward to the ground as the spirit smothers over him. He closes his eyes and a fear is on his face.
The camera cuts back to the picture frame as pictures begins switching. It switches to the picture of the two brothers in a field. All of a sudden the earth cracks open and Chronus’ brother falls in the crack. Chronus catches him by his hand as the brother struggles to get up. The crack opens more and the ground shakes violently.
The camera cuts back to Chronus’ faces as he relives the memory that the picture frame is showing. A look of extreme emotion and depression overcomes Chronus as the events unfold on the picture frame.
Cut back to the picture frame as Chronus is losing his grip of his brother and can’t hold on. His brother falls into the abyss.
The camera cuts back to Chronus as the spirit pushes on him during the moment his brother is shown dying and Chronus lifts up his hand to protect himself. A TICK sound is heard. The camera moves down to show his clock has moved. The spirit comes down again on him again and he lifts his other hand up. The spirit moves up a little more and the clock TICKS again.
Camera cuts to the face of Chronus as his face shows the realization of what he must do. He stands up and pushes against the spirit. The clock on his chest begins spinning.
Camera cuts back to the picture frame and the picture of the two brothers playing is seen overcoming the bad memory.
Camera cuts back to Chronus as he is still pushes back the spirit. The spirit begins to transform into a softer cloudy substance and rises away from Chronus. Once it completely transforms the camera follows the spirit as it is sucked back into the picture frame. Once the spirit is in the fame, the image of Chronus’ twin fades into the picture and their clocks begin to rotate again.
