First Idea!

Using Simple Shapes and Colors, I think I have a good start.  Here is an Image with Multiple colors, along with “Sound waves” added to them with multiple other colors, either complimentary colors, or the inverted colors of the waves.

Final Project Research

While working through the semester, the final project has just been assigned, and it is about synesthesia.  I feel like I should do something with sound/color considering I listen to music whenever I am at my computer, and I am always looking at some visual or another.  Using other links, I am going to create three abstract images, and hopefully make a color-sound based project.

Reading Response 1

This Section of reading discussed “New Media” and how it was created and the properties of the modern medias growing.  The creation of Factories and Assembly lines helped hasten the ideas of uniform objects and artificial Intelligence.  These new Ideas created a spur of interest in Technologies and the creation of newer machines like Babbage’s Analytical Engine and Daguerre’s.  Combining these inventions basically created the modern day computer, and how impressive it’s storage of writings, pictures, videos, and information have organized it as a media inside itself.  The internet also is a media unto itself based on how web pages and communication are created, displayed, and interacted with.  Web sites can be considered modular because images, texts, and how they are displayed can be changed in almost any way imaginable.  The new media that technology has created is incredibly spurred interest in new artists and created a new window of opportunity for them.

I found how the interchangeability and variability of computer arts to be quite interesting.  The stagnant nature of arts on paper and video seemed to be quite nice, but very non-interactive and boring after some time.  The ability of modern day computers in creating new artistic work with programs like Photoshop seem to be endless and quite innovative.  I think learning about the history of digital arts is quite exciting seeing where it has come from and where it will lead!
