COPE/No Wrong Door Training

COPE/No Wrong Door Training

We will be having our next Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) in conjunction with a No Wrong Door Training. We are looking for volunteers to help with the community resources during COPE.

If you are not familiar with COPE it is a hands-on poverty simulation that allows participants to role play through various scenarios based on real-life examples. By encountering barriers and being forced to make tough decisions, participants gain a greater awareness of the daily realities for many low to moderate income families in our community. This powerful experience will inform and enlighten your understanding of poverty, inspire you to take action and help those who need it most.

As a volunteer you will be playing the role of a resource, such as a police office, doctor, landlord, judge, etc. Each resource will be provided with a script  to help guide you through the simulation.
