4:00-5:30 pm

Bowen Thompson Student Union Theater, Room 206

Reception to follow

The Department of Ethnic Studies is hosting Native American photographer Matika Wilbur on November 5, 2014. Wilbur is chronicling the contemporary lives of Native Americans across the United States. Her project is funded by kickstarter donations, and Wilbur’s goal is to chronicle the 562 federally-recognized Native nations, of which she has already covered at least 70 on the west coast. Wilbur presents her work at BGSU at 4:00 p.m. in the BSTU theatre (Room 206). There will be opportunities for students and faculty to speak with her at the reception following the talk. Please encourage your students to attend the lecture since this is a wonderful opportunity for them to be introduced to the diversity and contemporary lived experiences of Native Americans.
