Google Signs Digital Book Publishing Deal
The NY TIMES reports that in Google’s settlement over copyright issues with major booksellers, they negotiated the rights to publish out of print books: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/10/business/worldbusiness/10kindle.html?ref=technology The Google settlement largely concerned works that were still under copyright but no longer in print.
