For this project I intend to focus on Character design and illustrating their culture or way of living. They will be more of fantasy characters with very fantasy-ish clothing and whatnot. I will try to tie the characters together with the style and probably make them come from similar civilizations if not the same.
I will be using digital painting and probably some photo textures, but that depends on the piece as I work on it. I will try to have 4 images painted for this project.
My artwork mostly centers around digital painting and matte painting. The reason for this is because I am going into concept design as a career. I use Photoshop CS4 or CS5 to create my art. However, I also do modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and effects. For this I use Autodesk Maya and After Effects.
The feeling that I always try to portray in my artwork is somewhere along the lines of “majestic” or “epic”. I have always been drawn to long stories that develop their characters and plot to such a fine degree that the viewer develops an attachment to them. That is what I try to do with my work; make it so that the viewer can picture themselves in my work, experiencing what it would be to live in a different world.
